For the artistic father

I struggle with masculine day cards sometimes. You see many rugged, outdoorsy cards for men but I have some creative artistic types in my life too. So for them, I look for more simplistic yet artistic expressions. Most guys don’t do the extra frill and sparkle that usually dominate more female-inspired cards but that doesn’t mean they have to be basic.

For this Father’s Day card I chose the more messy sets of Gorgeous Grunge and Timeless textures. Paired off with a sentiment from the new catalog, Thoughtful Banners (seriously should check this out, it has something for just about every thing!)I created a 3-d banner by stamping and cutting out the sentiment part and popping it out with a dimensional.  I made a not-over-the-top monocromatic card for the artistic father out there. One thing that is different is instead of layering on top of the card, this is actually behind the frame, like a picture. I used my closed scissors to fray the frame around it to continue the messy look.

Just another style of card for the men in our lives as we celebrate those dads we know and love.
