The cards you wish you didn’t have to send

sympathy

Admittedly, sympathy cards are the one type of cards I keep least stocked in my collection. Perhaps it’s because deep down I hope I don’t have to use any. However, that isn’t the case though. For sympathy cards I try to keep them more elegant and less busy than I would for something in a happier instance so for this one I have the base stamped and only a few layers in the middle using some accents. I crumpled up the flowers to give them a fabric-like texture to them and used just the pop of color to compliment the neutral colors of the rest of the card. Also for the paper, I couldn’t find any Tip Top Taupe scraps around so I sponged the color onto a scrap of Very Vanilla. Great way to fake the card stock color in a pinch.

The retirement list is coming out on Monday and I know that the Lost Lagoon color as well as the rest of the 2014-2016 In colors will be on it. Make sure to get your In color supplies early since that is one of the first things to sell out.
