So for this week’s simple card, I tried to do a one layer card. But, since I goofed and put the sentiment too far onto the darker brown, well now it was an almost single layer card. I struggle with sympathy cards. Is fancy too much, how much is not enough? And really there isn’t any one answer. So for this card, I thought it would be more appropriate for someone who is more of the sans frills, down to earth type. I created the background using Soft Suede ink on masking tape. The dark and light actually happened on accident but boy did it fit. I kept it all in the neutral family, putting it on vanilla paper. It has a more subdued feeling over the brightness of white. And I love the random design using tape as a stamp gives you. Overall, the card is simple, beautiful and not distracting from the heartfelt message you would write on the inside.
