Feeling Cherry

I have been getting into the Cherry Cobbler mood lately and both cards below really show it. One shows off the new blendabilities markers and the other is a sneak peak at the new catalog.

Blended

This card came from an experiment with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities. I just on whim decided to try what this stamp would look like with some cool color gradation just on a scrap piece of paper. Well I loved it so much that I punched it out and made this card with it. I colored the entire image with the lightest color then added the medium almost half in and just put the darkest around the outer edge.  The glimmer paper added a little bling to the sentiment. I love this flourish from the Everything Eleanor set and topped it off with a punched Cherry Cobbler butterfly with diamonds. It’s clean, simple yet very elegant. And I just love how the marker coloring makes the sentiment just jump out.

Now, even though it is July, we are closer to Christmas than we think!

Christmas card 1

So it’s already that time of the year where I start thinking about Christmas cards. Since I went to the Stampin’ Up! convention at Salt Lake City, I got a head start at working with the new holiday catalog that will be released for customers August 28th. I used the new stamp set Bright and Beautiful for the star and the sentiment.  I really like that this set also comes with a sentiment for the inside of the card. I used a versamark ink pad to stamp the star, put on heat and stick powder which I then melted with my heat tool, sprinkled on Dazzling Diamonds and heat set. The new Sheer Cherry Cobbler ribbon was a must buy for me. And even though this is only mock up number 1, I have a feeling that that ribbon will be used in whichever card I go with. Mock up 2 will have a neat snowflake embellishment incorporated. I used Smokey Slate to go with the Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler paper.
