For your fridge

magnetToday has been a hard day as I had to bury one of our family pets. It’s always an emotional time when you have to say goodbye. I decided to try to cheer myself up by creating a little something out of the usual. My magnets on my fridge are old and falling apart and I wanted to have something a little more decorative.

I created the base of this using a thin cardboard that I cut down to a 3×3 square. I reached into my scrap bin and found this retired piece of dsp. I have tons of scraps so for the next few weeks you will see lots of scrap worthy projects. I used my big shot, Loving Thoughts, and of course my favorite, daubers t o make the sentiment piece in the middle. I used the retired Baja Breeze blue to match the dsp but you can use whatever color you want to match whichever dsp you use. I just inked up the edges to give it a darker look, stamped and glued the sentiment and added the pearls as a finishing touch. I glued the square to a clothes pin which then has a magnet glued to the other side. This is so I can use it to clip things to the fridge. If you choose, you can cut a larger sheet of magnet paper down and glue it directly to the cardboard back to have a larger magnet.

The possibilities are endless and it was so easy and quick to make!
