Swapping the layers

Typically when I use the Top Note die I use the cut shape for the card. For this one, I switched it up and instead of using the shape on a background, I used the paper from the cut over another piece of paper. It’s kind of a reverse layer thing. It’s almost like an optical illusion because you may think the light blue was the cut shape instead of the stripes (sadly from the retired dsp).  I then stamped the bottom paper so its almost like a photo box but not so 3-D. Using my awesome daubers, I added more Night of Navy onto different parts of the paper because this is just such an awesome color. Some great butterflies and you have a cute monochromatic birthday card.

Have you shopped the recently restocked clearance rack? Next time I will show a neat trick using one of the retired products you can find currently on there. (Here’s a hint, its the shimmer paint available as long as supplies last!)
