In with the In-colors

Imagined big

So I challenged myself to try to make a card using a wild color combination I haven’t tried before. Not sure how good of a risk taker I am when it comes to making projects. This one I used two colors from the new 2013-2015 In Colors (Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe) and one from the 2012-2014 In Colors (Primrose Petals.) It is probably the most layers I have used on a card as well. I figured to give it a try and see if I like it. What came out is pretty cool. I used my wheel to make the background. I talked about how to do that technique previously here. This card uses all the things I love, wheel stamps, butterflies, the big shot and pearls. I was able to make the layered look with the top note die by cutting just below the usual perforated marks that the die cuts into the paper. I’m switching from the popular flag tails to rounded corners. I just like the look better. Add in some watercolor stamping on the primrose and I think this looks pretty neat. I may have to get more risky after all.
